Each year, the Department of Agriculture publishes a Performance Plan. Performance Plans summarize the near-term strategic and operational priorities for the Department, and explicitly connect organizational objectives to a system for managing the achievement of these priorities. The Performance Plan contains much detail about the work of the Department, to the level of individual processes by which they deliver goods and services to their customers, alongside their current focus areas. This is a core part of our approach for Customer- and Taxpayer-Focused Performance Management.

With the support of Governor John Hickenlooper and Colorado’s legislature, DOLA is your partner in assisting local governments and communities by providing funding to projects such as public facilities, transportation infrastructure, emergency response agencies, rural healthcare programs, rural economic development efforts, water and sewer systems, and community development. We also have subjectmatter experts who can provide technical assistance to help communities reach their goals.

The department has four overarching goals with specific objectives tied to each of them. The objectives drive the performance measures, benchmarks, strategies and action plans of the department. As noted earlier, the goals and objectives aim to build an aligned education system (student, educator, schools/districts, state) focused on better results for all students.
